I offer one and two hour clinics. Either session can be individually tailored to fit any environment from elementary schools to colleges and drum corps.

One Hour Clinic Overview

  • Performance "Tribute", my 4 Time World Championship Solo
  • Proper Practice Techniques
  • Discussion and demonstration of my style of playing (a hybrid of the Moeller Stroke and the Stone Stroke) and how it is adapted to marching percussion
  • Techniques to improve speed of playing and quality/consistency of sound
  • Explanation of back-sticking and different tricks
  • Hands on instruction to volunteers

Two Hour Clinic Overview

In addition to material covered in the one hour clinic:

  • Question and Answer Session
  • Acting / Performance and Confidence Building Exercises
  • In depth discussion on solo construction and correct practice techniques
  • Goal setting and follow through

Private Lessons / Rehearsals / Master Classes

30 and 60 minute private lessons are available. I am also available for rehearsals and master classes. Contact me for more information.

Clinics align with National Standards and Benchmarks within Life Skills, Language Arts, Behavioral Studies, Arts Education, Physical Education, and Music. Presentations also include the use of Multiple Intelligences in the classroom.

Background

I have been involved with marching percussion since 1987. Since I started playing snare drum I have had the opportunity to march with numerous World Class Drum and Bugle Corps, learn from the top in the industry and teach thousands of young people the value in teamwork and dedication to a craft. I am endorsed by Vic Firth sticks and mallets, Pearl Drums. Evans Drumheads, Zildjian cymbals and NDC Technologies.
